Not sure whether the slugs or the ice cream was the highlight. Spot mad boy swimming in his clothes (no he didn't have a change of clothes or a towel!). One of the kids commented, "That's what Bilingual School is all about. We'd never be allowed to do this on a shougakko trip". Hmmmm... Let's hope parents see it as a positive too :-)

On Saturday we went walking on Funday. We were tired after all the walking, but we had a lot of fun.

There are lots of children moving from the lower school to the upper school this April, and we have some new friends who have joined us as new upper school students too. So we had a one day orientation to get to know each other. We had lots of fun and we learned a lot too. Some highlights...

We started with some team building games. Can we all get on the blue tarp as it gets smaller and smaller? Spot the crazy teacher cheerleading the tower building!

We had a "make your own sandwich" lunch party. Yum!


We played hide and seek indoors as it was raining too hard to go to the park.

Of course, we studied and played word/phonics games.

We went to Fish School down at Tarumi sea front and made nori. Lucky for us, the weather was warm and good. While we were waiting for our nori to dry, we went to the lego shop and played. Good day out.

This month's international Fun Day, we went skating. The children were WAY better than the teachers - especially me! Everyone had fun though.

We got penfriends in Colusa in the USA thanks to Rean's family. We've been busy writing them letters and making them posters.

We went bowling for international Fun Day this month. There are some good bowlers among us! From the blue class and overall, N was champ, T was the winner from the red class, and H was the run away high scorer in the yellow class. Good job everyone!

International Program Fun Day... we went hiking! Over the mountains and far away.

We made cookies following our two main themes this month: moon and stars, and dinosaurs. We took them to out moonviewing picnic.

Water Day saw us at the pool with swimming events dominating in the morning and rhythmic gymnastics in the afternoon. The KOBILS synchronized swimming team had a great day and took all the medals. Meanwhile, in the park, some new events were introduced. We studied too as you'll see!
