Day 5: Treasure, sports ... and some work!

August 1, 2008 08:48 by janina

We worked quite hard in the morning doing lots of worksheets and reading.

Then just before lunch we started our treasure hunt. We followed arrows drawn on the road (thanks to Lauralee for ur great pavment writer). First the arrows took us to Janina's house where we ate our lunch. Lovely air-conditioning! Then we followed the arrows all the way to Ajisai park and found our treasure - happy day! In the park we did hammer toss with stockings and water balloons, high jump and other sports. Ajisai Park is great because of the shade from the bridge, so it wasn't too hot for us!

Water Day saw us at the pool with swimming events dominating in the morning and rhythmic gymnastics in the afternoon. The KOBILS synchronized swimming team had a great day and took all the medals. Meanwhile, in the park, some new events were introduced. We studied too as you'll see!

Olympic Summer School Starts Today: Day One

July 28, 2008 08:57 by janina

Yay! The countdown is over and we started today. We got off to a running start with the ice cream torch relay in the park; big and small children all worked together to pass the torch to each other around the shady part of the park in a long relay race.

We had already got into teams (each team was an olympic ring color), found some rings and painted them! Then we tossed them. It was fun!

Back at school we found out about the olympics, had lunch, played soccer and did all kinds of things. Finally we painted sports people in our teams. Look out for our new window display coming soon!

We all had fun and we're looking forward to more tomorrow!
