Warmer weather and we're doing lots of sping activities. We're feeling really bright and breezy!
Finger painting butterfly pictues. Paint one side.

Then fold and press down... and you get a beautiful butterfly.

We are learning about caterpillars, butterflies, tadpoles and frogs.

And making flapbooks to show their journeys from eggs to...
We're making vases and flowers.

Look at our spring noticeboard.
We made lots of crafts and had a party for Hina Matsuri. Check out our flower arranging with plum blossoms. Mums were happy.

We ate chirashizushi.

And we made a beautiful hina doll window display.
It was also Okusan's birthday on Hina Matsuri. But we're not telling how old she was!

We made a carrot cake for her (Janina's special recipe. You can get yours at the Bazaar auction if you're lucky!). Okusan was really surprised as you can see!

We had tons of activities to celebate the winter olympics. Here is a taster.
Medal winners!

Olympic Flame: We had it right here at KOBILS!

Ice hockey: Our favorite. On the rink with newspaper hockey sticks and plastic balls and balloons.

And table top with straws.

Making lunch mats and skiing pictures:

Teddy bear olympics, skeleton and luge. We tried different types of artificial snow and guessed which would be fastest.

And Germany won gold again. Grrrr.... I can't work out how I missed the picture on the British gold medal day!
We played with Olympic rings:
We learned where Canada was and medal winning countries.
And we made a big Olympic display. Happy happy Olympics!

Great excitement at school today as our piano arrived. How cool is that? Big thanks to the Erina/Anna family for making it possible.

We are collecting yennies for Pennies for Peace, an international charity that builds schools and provides education for children in rural areas of Pakistan and Afghanistn who often can't afford to go to school or have the chance to. We'll also have a bazaar on March 22. Please put your ¥1 in the jar. We are about half way full but we'd like to fill it up before the bazaar. Thanks :-)

It's Pancake Day in England and the UK today. We made and ate pancakes for lunch (but seem to have lost the photos!). And then we went to the park and had pancake races (with our playdough pancakes we had made earlier).
